I’ve been seeing DIY sharpie mugs everywhere lately, so I decided to try my hand at one. I chose to write some of the most personally meaningful lyrics from one my favorite Avett Brothers songs on my mug. Here is the result. They’re super easy to create and I followed the tutorial on A Beautiful Mess.
All you need is a plain white mug (Goodwill has plenty for about 50 cents) and sharpie to create your design. When you’re ready to seal the deal, place the mug in the oven for 30 minutes on 350 degrees. Allow it to cool completely before using it or washing it. Also, this mug is hand wash only. It holds up well to scrubbing by hand, but not so much in the dishwasher.
